Lazy, do-nothing days are the best kind of days. Today I have quite a relaxed day, only running little errands but mainly writing articles and catching up on TV. I have grown to love simple outfits like this because they're so practical and easy to put together. If I need to accessorize with this look, I always can because each piece is very simple and straightforward. I chose a pair of basic blue jeans, going back to basics. Over that, I'm wearing a totally plain white t-shirt by Nike with a wool cardigan. The cardigan actually has a little shimmer to it as it has glimmer sewn in with the wool which I think adds a little sparkle, litterally. The black and white hi-top Converse are about as casual as you can get, they really flaunt a laid back look and add that tone to my outfit.

Pink Lemonade

Today's jumper is one that I have had for a very long time, but just cannot let go. When I first bought the jumper I never wore it. I thought it clashed with my skin tone rather than complimented it and I didn't think the style was that flattering on my body shape. Immediately, it went to the back of my wardrobe and I didn't see it for a while. However, as autumn and winter rolls in, and I live in the north, I'm wearing thicker clothes nearly every day and came across this abandoned sweater from Next. I'm not totally sure what I was thinking a few years ago, but my mind has definitely changed. The cotton is very thick but not too heavy which makes this jumper great for today as the weather isn't too chilly. I also love the woven detail that doesn't stick to a set pattern which gives the outfit some texture. The white paired with pink makes the overall jumper seem lighter and brightens up my look. This top is the statement piece for my outfit so I chose my favourite charcoal jeans and dark accessories so they don't take away from the lovely colour.

Berry Farmer

Coat season is in full swing and I'm absolutely loving it. The great thing about coats is that you can wear them when they're too small and too big - if you style them right. The same method works with jumpers too. The coat I'm wearing today was 'thrifted' while I was window shopping and it's slowly but surely growing on me. At first, I was reluctant to try it on as it's a larger size and doesn't exactly ooze glamour but experiment with my style is a goal of mine. It turns out, this coat is much greater than I could imagine. Although it reminds me a lot of a jacket quite a lot of farmers wear in Yorkshire, I have found it to be really useful as we get closer to winter. I think, although it's very simple it has a vintage-like vibe to it. Grandad fashion is back, I guess. Berry-coloured clothing is naturally more popular in the back end of the year so I was happy to see a nice maroon-like lining inside the coat, and paired with with a lace jumper and cotton beanie.

My Excuse Is That I'm Young

There's always that one item of clothing that you just cannot get rid of. There's not one element in the entire world that can demolish this specific bond and it has been your go-to look for at least a year now. That's exactly how I feel about today's dress. I'm absolutely crazy about it and I'm so excited for Autumn as the deep berry or maroon colour is ideal for this season. I've also been loving prints so the dark aztec print on the dress is ideal. This season has introduced a lot more coats and jackets which means I get to layer underneath to keep warm. There are so many different styles of cover-ups, the list is endless, but today I have chosen this khaki green coat with a faux fur collar to go with my look. I think the berry-like colour and the very dark green blend together really well and are two excellent colours for Autumn. I have also chosen matching accessories, as I wanted most of the focus to be on the clothing. This rustic rucksack is a new favourite of mine, it's denim but really light and pairs well with plenty of items in my wardrobe. Similarly, my boots, which are always a favourite of mine, are versatile as they pair with skirts and dresses as well as trousers or jeans. They're faux leather - making them waterproof and affordable!

Completely Casual

26 September 2014

Today's I'm going for the ultra casual look. Sometimes I like to feel really casual rather than dressing up every day. As I'm only shopping, I chose not to wear a dress because taking tights off and then having to put them back on every time I try something on can be quite a faff. I think graphic tees are the best way to still have an exciting outfit without going over board and staying casual. The one I'm wearing was actually a present, but t-shirts like this are available anywhere. I like that this t-shirt can have a dark background (still sticking with black as usual) but the design that reads "live on tour" is the focus point for the whole ensemble. In my opinion, jeans are the best nonchalant style without going full laid-back and wearing sweats. I prefer to wear super skinny, and this pair is from Topshop which make some of the softest jeans I've ever worn in my life. I've also found that the classic pair of hi-top Converse are not only comfortable but the ultimate informal shoe. I was going to wear boots, but again thinking of practicality, I went straight to the All Stars.
