Like black, navy is a colour I wear a lot, and I feel, can never really be over-worn. Personally, I don't know if darker colours make you appear slimmer, but I think this is partially responsible for my love of the darker tones. I've also been told that vertical striped make you appear slimmer in contrast to horizontal stripes. I actually feel more comfortable in the horizontal pattern and I chose this jumper because I love the the patterns are thick and thin which differs the top from any other. These dark denim jeans are among my favourites because they feel quite 'body-shaping' and are tight yet comfortable. I prefer MOTO jeans from Topshop because they're always so soft and comfortable. Whenever I shop in store, I never know which pair to pick up first because they're all so soft and stretchy which makes them easier to wear for longer periods of time. I also like to shop at Next for their jeans because they have the longer length jeans that aren't too short for me; as well as jeggings, which are so similar to jeans you can't tell the difference. A lot of the time, I will go for high-waisted jeans because they compliment your figure and can be worn with shorter length of cropped tops. Navy has become my comfort colour, but I think there are so many ways to style this simple tone, it's versatile in almost every way.

PRETTY PLUM

14 May 2014

Back to school! It's a Wednesday which means I'm half way through this very long week, and I'm literally counting down the hours until I can go to sleep tonight. I'm that lazy. So today I'm wearing this lace dress made for me, and I'm crazy about the colour. It has two different tones to it, the fabric behind appears as a 'background' colour which is a really dark purple and then a lighter plum/aubergine colour on top full of subtle pattern. This dress is great for school because it's so soft and comfortable for my entire day in lessons. I also have a free period right in the middle of the day so I like to relax in the common room then, which means I need something really cosy to curl up in. My coat is from Matalan and perfect for a day like today because of the fur lining on the colour and the inside. It's faux of course, and almost like sheepskin it's so very soft. I'm carrying my everyday school bag from TK Maxx that is perfect for carrying all my huge folders in, and my leather pumps are from Next. I bought these shoes from the men's section, and they're perfect for a long day of walking - possibly for a theme park or a day out, so I love to wear these to school because I know I won't have to walk home with me feet in pain!

IT'S MY 18th BIRTHDAY!

5 May 2014

Finally... I am 18 years old! I'm just so excited I can barely keep still. Not only is it bank holiday Monday which means I have the day off school, it's not absolutely freezing as it was last year so I can really enjoy the day. However, I do have an extremely busy day ahead of me. First a meeting with the BBC, then a job interview, a meal with the family and finally an evening-in with my very best friends. Most 18-year-olds would jump at the chance to head to a crowded night club and spend their savings on so much alcohol they can't remember their last name. But there's plenty of time to do that, and today I feel like a fun-filled night-in with films, snacks, drinks, games and whatever else the night brings.
For that evening I'm wearing this electric blue jumper from Marks and Spencer. I love the really bring colour, and this jumper is 100% wool so I'll be warm if I decide to sit outside tonight. The jumper is the perfect length to go with these charcoal jeans from Miss Selfridge that I just can't seem to get enough of. I have two pairs of these, in different colours of course but charcoal is my very favourite. To match my jeans. I'm wearing my favourite coat I bought from Matalan in Autumn last year. This coat is faux fur lined with the softest material which means I can wrap up in it if it does get a little chilly. With me, I'm taking my everyday handbag from Next full of all my essentials and my boots, which I have recently become obsessed with are from a mysterious shop in Leeds. I'm assuming it was a charity shop or similar, but no one really knows. Anyway, these boots are super roomy as they can be tied tighter of left loose. They're strong and structured which makes them ideal for walking on terrain other than tarmac.
Now, to begin the celebrations!
